Technical Engineering

Work with the Store Makers - Middle East to successfully execute your Retail Interior requirements.

At the beginning, there are the store plans. In the end, a stunning store. The Store Makers translate the architectural plans into production-ready manufacturing details. With many materials on stock and an excellent procurement team we are able to fulfil the most unusual material wishes for our sophisticated customers. Detailed workshop drawings and finish samples are part of a standard approval processs. Groupwide aligned 3D engineering standards form an integral part of the technical process and preperation work for consitent production even across different manufacturing sites. Mock-ups & Prototypes can be developed for new furniture items to get a detailed understanding of the operational practicalities prior to final execution. Highly efficient production system that measures labor efficiency & time productivity for each fabrication step along with an inline Quality Assurance and final Quality Control process (QA/QC) are ensuring a consitent & reliable execution to the expected quality level - so nothing stands in the way of a punctual store opening whether it is a one-off boutique or a rollout of multiple stores across the region.

Technical Engineering Process
1

Starting from the Store Plans

1

Based on the tender requirements of the architects consisting of first drawings, drafts, finished concepts, documents or simply existing specifications, the Store Makers create a first technical proposal. Included in this are always first a detailed technical and commercial proposal. A wide range of parameters must be taken into account right from the start: aesthetics, material specifications and availability, lighting, operational use, manufacturing options, delivery restrictions, installation optimisation, and ease of maintenance.

2

Kick Off Meeting & Technical Workshops

2

To execute a project of complexity as fast as possible all project participants (the Architect/Designer, the clients Project Management Consultant, the Visual Merchandising Manager, the Structural Engineer, the Civil Work Contractors,…) need accurate and clear information to make decisions quickly together with our Technical Project Coordinator. To enable that the project moves forward in the required pace it is mandatory for the Store Makers to start a project with a Kick-Off Meeting, where all framework requirements for the project are defined. Regular technical workshops round off the concise internal and external coordination and communication and thus guarantee a fast and well-coordinated project progress.

3

Approval Drawings

3

Based on the technical proposal, our engineering creates specific production drawings & details. Together with the factory specialists, they transfer hand sketches & architectural plans to detailed production drawings with a 3D modelling software and sent to the customer for approval.

4

Approval Samples & Mock-ups

4

Gaining maximum benefit from the input of the project team and the customer, samples and small mock-ups are presented during the regular workshop meetings. After the approval of different materials and key details in the samples, the technical approval drawings will be broken down into individual part drawings & the bill of materials.

5

Raw Material Procurement

5

Based on the approvals all necessary long lead-time raw materials and other procurement parts are being ordered. Specialist items are being prioritised in the drawing process to get the fabrication started early in time to reach our final assembly at the Regional Production Hub in Dubai.

6

Prototyping

6

For equipment, which has not been previously produced or reviewed, the Store Makers are prepared to allow for extra prototyping, which ensures that all specifications of the project are physically reviewed also by the retail operations team and the shape, scale and interaction within the scheme look as the customer wishes.

7

Production & Quality Control

7

The Store Makers in production add their craftsmanship and skills to the final and approved details and ensure an efficient use of the materials to achieve a final product that will also stand the test of time. A final quality control process ensures that also the Technical Project Coordinator and our Engineering Team are responsible that everything has been inspected and checked before it is packaged and dispatched for delivery to site & the final installation works commence.
